Mercy Foundation (MF) is an NGO functioning in Trincomalee district. It was founded on 13th July 2005 with a view to ameliorate the socioeconomic conditions of the rural folk affected
by war and by natural disasters (Tsunami) in the Trincomalee district. |

Mercy Foundation is dedicated to render humanitarian services to the victims of violence , nature disasters or social discrimination through the provision of emergency relief and medical assistance,micro‐financing towards economic recovery / self employment ,improving sanitation and water facilities , and housing ; and through promotion of peace –building and the prevention of violence against women and children. |

Organizing Day‐Care Centres for women. |

Issuing the sewing machines to poor people. |

Construction of latrines. |

Supply of school equipment. |

Construction of Wells. |

Supply of dry ration to affected families. |

Supply of bicycles to promote self‐employment opportunities. |

Supply of clothing to the poor people. |

These services were funded by organizations from USA, Canada and the Republic of Germany. MF is governed by a Board of Directors headed by Rev. S.Rajavel. |
